As polling for the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections got underway on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to voters to turn out in large numbers and strengthen democratic participation.

With several constituencies voting in this phase, the Prime Minister’s message came as an early push for higher turnout, especially among key voter groups that often influence outcomes in tightly contested seats.
